Basically what I need (using my existing workflow if possible) is the simplest way to produce two MP4s: 1) With NO subtitles whatsoever except for the Russian dialogue scenes (in English of course) 2) With English subtitles throughout including the Russian. Foreign audio scan will make a pass through the whole video looking for foreign speaking parts. Foreign Audio Scan I tick only the default box . Subtitles tab: English selected (no foreign audio scan). I'm trying to add subtitle tracks to my MP4's when converting from an MKV, using Handbrake. So I've set Eng Sub 2 (the foreign only) as the first subtitle track and set it to Default (Forced and Burn in are greyed out) Then I set Eng Sub 1 as the second Sub track.
